One thing will remain same, iPad 2 won't have FLASH support no matter in which self it manifest itself. Not so long ago, Apple chief has already declared that there is no future for Flash. So, don't expect to see FLASH. As thought, it will definitely be thinner and slimmer than the old version. That could mean, iPad 2 will be more focused towards cloud computing. That means, more restrictions to end users. New iPad 2 owners will find that they've no control over their own devices, everything they enjoy will have more price to pay for. Slim device and cloud computing seems quite futuristic and applaudable but personally, I think we're not yet ready for that. Apple has set standard for being innovative but not to forget, there are flopp products too they introduced in their line of product history. iPad 2 could surge it's sales but based on hype.

If you ask me, I give thumbs down to iPad 2.

UFO SIGHTING Cumbria

Seeing is believing. Millions of people can't be wrong. This Cumbria UFO Video clip accidentally taken by Robert Atkins during his dog walk out is in media and recent. Videos posted were made no sense, just played in the normal speed on Youtube and didn't quite see anything except few nan0-second dots appearing on the screen. Quite frankly, it appeared as a glitch on his camera's lens. I still couldn't figure out and as a result I thought to dissect the video frame by frame in playable format. I used VLC player to play it in 0.06 secs slow motion mode and while doing so, I recorded the playback using other tool.

This UFO was traversing in an unimaginable speed. It was doing that in zigzag pattern. While doing so our technology based camera virtually captured it as three UFOs on the screen. Further analyzing, It appeared to be only one UFO at blazing speed, faster than light and zooming in a zigzag course. Those two dimmed objects initially appeared and captured somewhere on the screen were actually the reflection of the UFO traversing along a zigzag path. Our camera couldn't capture such a high speed action rather showed as some blinks of black dots.

Conclusion: We're still petty and insignificant in terms of the technology they're using if it's real. What makes them travel fast? Our physics can't have solid answer yet except some concepts. With that speed, they' could round the planet in a matter of few minutes.

Delete or Remove undeletable file and folder in Windows 7 by taking ownership

Today, there was a strange encounter with a file inside a folder or to be precise say a .FLV file downloaded off Youtube refused to obey any normal file system command requested. I have Windows 7 Professional 32 bit , it's kind of new to me and there are lot of things yet to be discovered.

Once in a while, I organize my downloads and then I back it up. While doing so, this one .FLV file took forever to respond. The problems I faced were:

It wouldn't move to other folder or location at all, Windows Explorer just takes forever and keeps showing with 'discovering/calculating' message
Tried to rename the file, and the explorer window didn't respond. When I fired further clicks, I saw 'Not responding' at the window's title bar.
Then I tried to delete it, and it wouldn't delete. Pretty adamant.
I tried to check the properties of the file and my Windows 7 acted like nothing happened. I did that several times and saw no effect at all. It didn't show me any window or any message box. That was strange.
Now, I really needed to get this thing off my system. I did malware checks. I found out it's clean. I rebooted in safe mode(F8 key during bootup) and tried to delete it with no luck. I saw it has lock icon on it. After seeing, lock icon I thought some encryption is preventing me to do things.
Back to normal mode, I tried to disable the Bitlocker encryption of Windows 7 but found out and remembered, encryption was already disabled.
I installed Unlocker for Windows 7, hoping that would definitely delete the culprit. But even my favorite tool in XP failed in Windows 7.
I had this kind of problem in Windows XP when filename or folder name is awkwardly long and saved in last sub folder of many folders hierarchy.( eg: c:\folder1\folder2\folder3\folder4\folder5\long file name) In those cases, I simply start to delete from last subfolder and it works. I checked if it's the same issue in Windows 7 and it was not.
I tried to run that FLV file and out of shock it played. Hmmm...

So, there was nothing wrong with the file. It's just something not letting me do file actions under Windows 7 environment. I searched microsoft and found they've some ownership settings running on file system for security. I didn't use Vista much but found out that it is a known feature on Vista too. File ownership determines the permission level granted to certain users so that nobody could make unauthorized changes to the file / folder besides granted user. I was thinking Administrator could do anything. But I was wrong. Or may be bug where Administrator is restricted to perform system maintenance or may be lack of knowledge. I think, the FLV file must have different permission level from where it was generated first and it didn't just match with Windows 7's permission settings, so Windows 7 simple refused it's existence.

More searches, I found there was this little registry hack which will let you 'Take Ownership' of the file manually. I clicked, downloaded and run the registry hack. There was 'Take Ownership' shortcut menu added to my context menu. I right clicked on that FLV file, clicked 'Take Ownership' and voila. I could move the file , rename it or even delete it. The whole drama was because of this mismatched file permission settings.

Afterward, I tried to find if there is automatic Ownership of all files and folders under Administrators right in Windows 7 and I couldn't find a single solution for that. May be Windows 7 is not meant to be that way.

NOTE: This should work for all undeletable files and folders in Windows 7, can't delete file or folder in windows 7, can't remove file or folder in windows 7 , kind of things.

Pin your favorite folder to Windows 7 's taskbar

We all know how to pin our favorite programs to the Windows 7 taskbar. Simply right click them, and select the 'Pin to the Taskbar' option. We don't have similar option for folders. Here's how we do that.

Right-click any folder of your choice, drag it to the empty space of Windows 7 Task bar and drop it as soon as you see 'Pin to Windows Explorer' flashing. You read it right, it'll pin the folder to Windows Explorer's jumplist. Not simply to the taskbar.

Cold Reset or Hard Reset Steps for all HP Printers

Restoring an HP Jetdirect print server to factory defaults (known as a cold reset) will erase all previous configurations and may require network administrative knowledge, permissions, and access to reconfigure it. A cold reset also allows the HP Jetdirect to broadcast DHCP and BootP packets, which will allow it to be configured by a DHCP or BootP server.

HP Color LaserJet 3700 series
Turn the printer on and allow the printer to start the power-on sequence, then press and hold the green checkmark key until all three lights on the control panel are lit. When Select Language appears on the display, press the Down Arrow key until Cold Reset appears on the display. Press SELECT and the printer will perform a cold reset and continue its power-on sequence.

HP Color LaserJet 2500 series
Hold down the green GO button while turning on the printer. Continue to hold the GO button until only the bottom three LEDs are on. Continue to hold the GO button for approximately five seconds after that (until the Attention light turns off).

HP Color LaserJet 4500, HP Color LaserJet 8500 and 8550 series
Hold down the green GO button for approximately five seconds while turning on the printer.

HP Color LaserJet 4600 series HP Color LaserJet 5500 series
Turn the printer on and allow the printer to start the power-on sequence, then press and hold the green checkmark key until all three lights on the control panel are lit. Turn the printer power off.
Power on the printer and watch for the memory count to begin.
Hold down the SELECT (Checkmark) button, when you see the memory count begin. Continue holding down the SELECT (Checkmark) button until all three printer control-panel lights flash once and then remain on. This might take up to 10 seconds.
After the message SELECT LANGUAGE appears on the display, press the UP ARROW button or the DOWN ARROW button until COLD RESET appears on the display
Press the SELECT (Checkmark) button. The printer performs a cold reset and then continues its power-on sequence.

HP LaserJet 9000mfp, HP LaserJet 4100mfp
Hold down the 6 key while powering on the printer. After all the LEDs come on, release the 6 key. Caution: The LEDs will flash initially. Do not release the 6 key until all LEDs are solidly lit on. Press and release the 9 key one time. Cold Reset is then displayed. Press and release the 6 key one time.

HP LaserJet 8000, HP LaserJet 4100, 4050, 4000, 5000 series, HP LaserJet 5 series
Hold down GO while turning on the printer.

HP LaserJet 2200, 2200dn, and 2200dtn
Hold down the GO button. Turn the printer on and continue to hold the GO button for five to ten seconds. Release the GO button after the Attention light turns on. (If the button is held down for 20 seconds or more after the LEDs come on, it may reset the page count and remove the serial number.)

HP LaserJet 2300
Turn off the printer. Turn it on and hold the green checkmark button until all three lights are on. When the lights are on, stop pressing the checkmark. When Select Language appears, press the Up Arrow button to select Cold Reset and press the green checkmark button again.

HP LaserJet 2100, 2100n, and 2100tn
Printers with firmware v 19991018 or higher can cold reset the HP Jetdirect using this method: Hold down the small JOB CANCEL button. Turn the printer on; continue to hold the JOB CANCEL button for seven to ten seconds, then release. Do not hold the JOB CANCEL button longer than 10 seconds. Printers with older firmware can cold reset the HP Jetdirect; however, the page count and serial number on the printer’s Configuration page will be lost (the serial number is, however, also printed on the back of the HP LaserJet 2100 printer). This procedure is for reference only and should be avoided if possible. Print a Configuration page. This will ensure that a hardcopy of the current page count and the electronic serial number is available. Turn off the HP LaserJet 2100 printer. After the power is off, press and hold JOB CANCEL. Turn the power on, and continue to hold JOB CANCEL until all of the LEDs come on or for five to 20 or more seconds after all of the LEDs come on.

HP LaserJet 5Si and 5Si MX
Hold down ONLINE while turning on the printer.

Hold down ONLINE while turning on the printer.

Hold down the STATUS button on the card while turning on the printer - hold the button for at least 40 seconds.

HP Business Inkjet 3000 series
Turn off the printer. Press and hold the green SELECT key while turning the printer on. When all three status lights on the control panel light up (sequencing through the lights), release the green SELECT key. After Select Language appears on the front control panel, press the Down Arrow to "Cold Reset." Press the green SELECT key.

HP 2500c, 2500cm, 2500cxi, and 2500cse Professional series (Inkjet)
While holding down the GO button, turn on the printer.
When the printer is done initializing, Print Head Not Aligned will appear on the front panel. Realign the print head through the Diagnostics menu.

Press and hold ITEM and RESUME together while turning on the printer (pressing POWER).
